Lego Landmark Series

I loved Lego when i was young, it was my favorite toy and now i have stumbled across an new series that Lego has brought out called Lego Landmark. Hear are the buildings from the Lego Landmark series ( Willis Tower, John Hancock Center, Empire State Building, Space Needle, The Rockefeller Center The White House and The White House )

AutoCAD WS Test

I have played around with AutoCAD WS just to see how user friendly it is. If you have AutoCAD experience it quite easy to find your way around the application, it does not offer all the editing tools but enough to do basic alterations. I do have one or two criticisms about the application, first off is that sometimes its a bit difficult to access if you don't have an internet connection. My second problem i have been struggling to find an option to change the measurements from inches to millimeters and the third problem is that i cant figure out how to type in the the distance i want a line to be. Other than the one or to problems I'm experiencing its still a brilliant application.

First 3D MAX Interior Project 3

This is my 3D MAX Rendering for one of our computer projects. In a earlier project there is the same image rendered in AutoCAD 3D. The two images can be compared and i think that 3D MAX offers a better quality picture.

AutoCAD WS For Android

I while ago i downloaded an app that allows you to view you drawings on your phone. I just found an app called AutoCAD WS developed by Autodesk and it is basically Autocad on a phone. Have a look at this video and see what can be done.

First 3D MAX Interior Rendering

This is the finished product of the interior rendering we had to do in 3D MAX. It took a bit of time simply because we have not used the program before and learning to use it takes time. I'm hoping that as i get more familiar with 3D MAX my speed and skill will increase.

1st 3D MAX Project

We have received a new project for computers. The requirement for this project is to produce interior 3D rendering of 4 rooms with different types of lighting. Its been a bit difficult starting to use 3D Max because its unfamiliar and different. the renderings that are produced by 3D Max are meant to be of very high quality so it should be worth the effort learning how to use it.

Btech & second year Project

All the Btech students have been given a group of five 2nd year students. We have been given a 2 story house and us as the Btechs need to manage the project and assign drawing to the 2nd years. This project has been a huge learning curve for us because we now see how difficult to get students to produce good work.

DKD Assignment 3

We have received Assignment 3 for DKD. All the Btech students have been given five or six 2nd year students as our Drawing team. We have had to split the drawings up between them and manage the progress of the project. This is quite a difficult project because we do not have much experience managing a team but its been going quite well so far so hopefully it will keep going smoothly.

KTM SC-DUKE SCOOTER STAND HAND IN

This is my 3D hand in for Construction and detailing, It’s made for the KTM SC-DUKE maxi scooter. KTM design generally has a lot of square angles shapes and that is what i tried to incorporate in my design of the scooter stand. I tried to make the stand one that folds up so the advertising team does not have to deal with a lot of loose peaces of the stand. The canopy of the stand folds up on a hinge when you want to display and has advertisement’s on the inside of it. Two wings slide out of the main base of the stand to create a larger platform to walk on. The ramp scooter and pedestrian access unclips and is placed on top of the main platform. Finally is finished with orange and black the colours used by KTM and has KTM signage placed around it to attract people to the stand  

Computer Project 1 : Interior Replication

This is the inter picture I am going to attempt to replicate in Auto Cad 3d, its been about one and a half years since the last time i used Auto Cad 3D so I am just hoping I can remember how to use all the tools. 

AndCad For Android

I have a Samsung I9000 Galaxy S Smart phone running Adroid OS v2.1. at least once a month i go on the android market and see if any new and interesting apps have been developed and today i found an app called AndCad. It is described as a vector based CAD drafting application and is still in developing stage. The demo i downloaded is v1.8. 2D has the dimensioning tools feature but at this stage the demo can only import DXF files under 100kb in size. I have not rely had time to test it out yet but it will be interesting to see how well its been developed so far. I rely like the idea of being able to got to site and be able to have your full set of plans on your mobile phone but i think its still going to be a little while before they get that right.

KTM SC-DUKE Maxi Scooter

The KTM SC-DUKE Maxi Scooter is the scooter iv finally chosen for our scooter trailer project after changing my mind a couple of times. Iv always liked KTM and the way they design there KTM motorcycles. The SC - DUKE is a concept scooter at the moment but  is said to have a 1000 cc engine and it would apply the chassis made combined from steel bars and aluminum. The bike will use an automatic transmission with generating power 98 hp with max torque 90 Nm. The scooter predicted would cost about 10,000 Euro. So its not cheap and I'm still trying to understand the fact that a scooter has a 1000cc engine ! but we will have to wait and see if the concept becomes a reality......

AutoCAD WS For Ipad

I Love the way technology has moved forward and i think it will be good for presenting 3D's or technical drawings to clients. As a primary drawing tool I cant rely imagine that it would be quick to draw on it unless you connect a wireless mouse and keyboard, but then i would rather get a PC or Laptop because you will get more bang for your buck.

DKD Project 1 - Display Stand For a Scooter

Had to find a scooter for this project so I look into electric scooters. I found an interesting scooter made by Vectrix, its called the VX-1 and is said to be the first commercially available high performance electric scooter. This scooter is exempt from paying road tax if you have road tax in you country and can be charge from a normal wall plug. The specifications say that its rang is up to 109km so for town travle i think it a brillent machine.

Btech Project 1

Received first design / studio work project and it is a Bio kinetics Centre. Will have to see how thing go!
